Name: American Hodl

Country: America

How long have you been into Bitcoin and what got you interested?

6 years. I came for the gains, stayed for the gains lol!

How did you come up with your alias and why don’t you use your real name?

I wanted a famous painting for my avatar, and when I was searching for one, american gothic popped into my mind. I thought it would sound a lot better as american hodl. I put a Bitcoin logo over the wife’s face, because I’m married to the game and boom that was it. I use a nym, because I don’t want to draw attention to myself. I’m not important, only Bitcoin is important.

Best Bitcoin experience and worst Bitcoin experience?

Best experience - 2017 bull run.

Worst experience - losing 5 coins gambling in the early days.

What is the biggest fail you have ever seen in the Bitcoin world?

Bitmain. They had the world in the palm of their hand and they blew it. They threw it all away on bcash lol….you love to see it!

What do you think about the Bitcoin markets volatility this last year and where we are at today. What’s your prediction for Bitcoin’s future?

I think everything is right on track.

What are your thoughts about the US Federal Reserve injecting so much money into the economy because of COVID and what do you think this means for the future?

It means we’re in the endgame now!

How do you think this affects Bitcoin?

Number go up.

What do you think most shitcoiners miss about Bitcoin?

Honestly, I think they just never even look into it.

Why do shitcoiners feel so threatened by HODLers?

Everyone hates HODLers. They want what we have. Every piece of fud in this space is an attempt to get your bitcoin. Never forget that.

What do you think about the latest Ethereum controversy about their complicity in auditing the total supply?

I mean... it’s Ethereum. LOL of course they don’t know what their supply is. I think I hadn’t realized how much self delusion was in Ethereum until this incident. They don’t know, and they don’t want to know.

Who is the biggest Bitcoin sell out that deserves to be put on blast and what lessons did it teach us?

Probably Trace Mayer. Trace had so much respect and admiration in this space and he went around fudding Bitcoin in order to shill a shitcoin? It’s truly tragic how little he cared for his own reputation. He was a hero of mine at one point.

Any tips for people on Bitcoin twitter?

Literally never think about your posts. The amount of time you should spend thinking about a tweet is the amount of time it takes to write that tweet. Then smash the send button.

Who are some of the most hardcore Bitcoiners you know and why?

Matt Odell is my favorite hardcore Bitcoiner. The thing I like about Matt is that he’s brutally critical of both himself and everyone else. You never get a free pass with Matt. He brooks zero bullshit. People like that are rare.

Why should Bitcoiners run a node and what tips can you give them to get started?

Literally just download Core. It’s so easy. The word node is scary to noobs. It’s software that you download to your laptop. Easy. Go do it. It’s important for privacy and it’s important to verify that you actually have bitcoin. Do it. It’s easier than you think.

What Bitcoin startups or companies are you most excited about?

Casa and Unchained. Multisig is the future of everything.

What are your goto Bitcoin storage options and what mistakes do you see people making?

I use Casa for the majority of my hodlings. I think the biggest mistake is either too much complexity or not enough lol.

Any tips you want to give to people new to Bitcoin?

Get your hands on as much Bitcoin as you possibly can or you’ll regret it.

Name some of your favorite information sources and/or podcasts in the space.

Start listening to Stephan Livera and Tales from the Crypt and go from there.

Any last words of wisdom?

Don’t fuck this up. This is the most important game you’ll ever play.
