The structure and ethos of sea shanties are already embedded in the Bitcoin ethos.

Bitcoin Twitter is basically one giant asynchronous shanty; the call and response between celebs and plebs, the constant refrain of memes, like Bitcoin fixes this and HFSP, and the sense of us vs the world that is the small boat against the great ocean.

It's a sea shanty... for bitcoin. It's a BTC-shanty.

The melody is from a rare sea shanty called Padstow Farewell (aka the Farewell Shanty). I wrote the lyrics, harmonized it, and performed it. But I would hate to be mistakenly credited for writing the melody, which is usually attributed to Mervyn Vincent, but no one really knows.

The BTC Minstrel seeks only to strengthen the bitcoin network through song and verse, extolling the virtues a hard money bestows upon those who use it, and bringing together in harmony those cyber hornets who would defend it.
